TSA’S APPROVAL OF CBD PRODUCTS TAKES FLIGHT

Flying across the country for work or play and don’t want to leave your CBD oil at home?  Nervous about checking or passing through security with your CBD product(s)?  Be nervous no more.  On May 27, 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) published a change of its policy relating to CBD and other hemp-derived products.  Until now, flying with these products was prohibited.

Here is the TSA’s public statement:  “Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2019”.

What does this mean?  It means that products that are now legal and approved under the 2018 Farm Bill (Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018) are allowed to pass through TSA and free to roam about the country!  Of course, one must always remain mindful of the laws of the individual states when travelling, as some states still prohibit the sale/possession of hemp-related products.
